Colin Markey

Voice 

Colin brings a wealth of vocal experience to his lessons due to his serious performance background in the USA and abroad. He has a B.A. in Music from New England Conservatory in Boston, MA and a M.A. in Music from Temple University, Boyer College of Music and Dance in Philadelphia, PA.  Colin has taught privately and as a  substitute teacher at R & M Music in Langhorne, PA.

 

His vocal performances have garnered high praise and critics noted his "unique vocal range, spot-on sense of pitch, powerful yet lyrical vocal qualities, and a well-developed technique.” Colin's repertoire varies from early Baroque to Wagner and beyond. In recent years, he  sang the title role in Tannhäuser for Amici Opera Company in Philadelphia as well as performing in two successful runs of the opera Fidelio and the operetta HmS Pinafore with Glow Lyric Theatre in Greenville South Carolina where he made his debut as both Florestan and Ralph Rackstraw.

Colin was a participant in the London Bel Canto Festival studying with Bruce Ford as well as in master classes with sopranos Nelly Miricioiu and Aprile Millo. Colin has been associated with the Stockton Opera Project in Stockton, New Jersey where he was featured in numerous recitals.
